Posted on July 11, 2019 by La Mesa Village Association

June gloom is behind us, and La Mesa Village is in full swing for summer! Bring the family, or plan a date night, and explore what the downtown Village of La Mesa has to offer.

If you haven’t checked out the La Mesa Classic Car Show, be sure to get it on your schedule! This fun and free community event has something for everyone. Each week, an array of unique cars line La Mesa Blvd. offering guests an up close view of these marvelous vehicles. Dance the night away on special nights when live music is played on the back of a La Mesa Lumber & Hardware flatbed truck! Or, visit with a variety of local car clubs throughout the month such as the MOPAR Club of San Diego and Autoworks Parts Int’l. Satisfy your taste buds and wet your whistle by ducking into one of the many La Mesa Village restaurants & bars in downtown La Mesa. From American fare, to Scottish delights, and everything in between, you’re sure to find a flavor to fill your tank. And, don’t go home empty handed, many retail shops stay open late featuring antiques, hand crafted furnishings, home goods, used books, art and much more. The La Mesa Classic Car Show is every Thursday night from 5 – 8 pm through August 29th. A full schedule of events and live music for each week can be found on the La Mesa Village Association website.

Another fun and free thing to do during summer is visit the La Mesa Village Farmers Market. Stroll down the middle of La Mesa Blvd. between Palm Avenue (by Por Favor Restaurant) to 4th Street (by Johnny B’s) and you will find a variety of vendors selling everything from fresh seasonal produce, unique packaged food products, fresh cut flowers, arts and crafts, as well as delicious food vendors. La Mesa Village shops and restaurants are also open and fun to explore. The Farmers Market is a great way to start the weekend and support local business at the same time. The La Mesa Village Farmers Market is every Friday from 3 – 7 pm.
