The La Mesa Village Association would like to set the record straight in regards to the La Mesa Village Farmers Market:

Background – the La Mesa Village Association brought the now current La Mesa Village Farmers Market to downtown La Mesa 1 ½ years ago. We hired Brian Beevers (DBA “Brian’s Farmers Market) to run the market due to his expertise and knowledge. The LMVA receives half of the revenues, which then go towards funding other popular La Mesa events, such as Oktoberfest, Car Show and Holiday in the Village. It is our primary source of income in order to run our non-profit organization. Together with Brian, we have worked to make the Farmers Market a truly special and successful community event!

On July 23rd, the La Mesa City Council voted to terminate the La Mesa Village Association as the sponsor of the La Mesa Village Farmers Market. They awarded the contract to Integrity First Promotions, Inc. (DBA – Brian’s Farmers Market).

The La Mesa Village Farmers Market will continue to operate in the same location (La Mesa Blvd. between Palm Ave – 4th St) and on the same day and time (Friday, 3 – 7 pm).We are happy to see the Farmers Market remain in the Village, and wish Brian the best of luck in continuing the success of this community event.

As for the future of the LMVA, we shall see. We are currently talking with Brian about potentially working with him to support the Farmers Market. Stay tuned.Thank you, again, to everyone who supports the La Mesa Village Farmers Market!
